The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival: Korn, Avenged Sevenfold & Asking Alexandria is gearing up for opening night on July 05. The annual festival tour will hit the road in San Bernardino, CA and hit several cities throughout the United States and Canada before wrapping up in Woodlands, TX on August 10. The Mayhem Festival is one of the biggest metal tours of the summer, and this year’s lineup is the biggest yet.
Avenged Sevenfold will officially headline the tour, but Korn, Asking Alexandria and Trivium will share the stage with the legendary band. Other bands to hit the stage on the Mayhem Festival tour include:
The 2014 Mayhem Festival promises four stages at most dates with enough space for 20 bands to perform. In addition the Main Stage, the festival will also include the Sumerian Stage, Coldcock Herbal Whiskey Stage and the Victory Records Stage.
As the festival name implies, fans can expect plenty of mayhem, excitement and surprises during the festival. In addition to live music, a motorsports exhibition is planned with motocross star Jimmy Fitzpatrick showing off his skills. If this year’s festival is anything like festivals in the past, there will plenty of surprise guest performances and lineup changes along the way.
This summer marks the seventh year for the festival and the first show for Suicide Silence since the death of frontrunner Mitch Lucker. Both headliner Avenged Sevenfold and second bill Korn released new albums in 2013.
The Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival embarked on its first tour in 2008. The festival lineup is arranged by Vans Warped Tour founder Kevin Lyman and John Reese. The festival features bands from the heavy metal, hard rock, metal core, death metal and nu metal genres.
