It’s been three years since Nickelback last released an album, but the multi-platinum band is back in a big way with their 2014 release of No Fixed Address. To promote their new album, the band announced a huge 2015 North American tour. The Pretty Reckless will open for the band on select dates.
The tour kicks off on Valentine’s Day in Allentown, Pennsylvania and make stops in 61 cities before coming to a close on August 29 in Atlanta. The eight month, two-leg tour will make its way through cities in the United States and Canada.
The band first announced the tour on November 5, 2014, so little details have been released about the set list and opening acts. The Pretty Reckless will join them for part of the tour, but there’s no word on whether or not the band will have other opening acts.
Fans can expect to hear the band’s early hits like “Far Away,” “How You Remind Me,” and “Burn it to the Ground.” The band will also play songs from their new album, including “Edge of a Revolution” and “What Are You Waiting For?”
Nickelback released their latest album No Fixed Address in mid-November just after the tour’s announcement. Tickets for the tour went on sale on November 16.
In addition to their North American tour, Nickelback will also embark on a world tour. The world tour will kick off in Finland on September 30th and come to a close on November 24th in London. The band will make stops in 31 cities before the tour comes to an end.
Nickelback first formed in 1995 in Hanna, Alberta. The Canadian rock band is one of the most successful Canadian groups of all time with more than 50 million albums sold worldwide. The band was also the second best-selling foreign act in the United States in the early 2000s.
The band first signed with EMI and Roadrunner Records back in 1999. Their second album The State was released in 2000 and spawned the hits “Leader of Men,” “Breathe,” and “Old Enough”. Since then, the band has gone on to release several successful albums, including Silver Side Up, The Long Road, Dark Horse, All the Right Reasons and Here and Now.
Nickelback’s release of No Fixed Address marks the band’s eighth studio release. The album peaked at #1 on the US Top Rock Albums, Top Hard Rock Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, and ranked in the top 10 in numerous other countries.
