5 Seconds of Summer visit Ak-Chin Paviliion this November with a world tour to follow in 2015.
After joining One Direction on their summer 2014 tour, 5 Seconds of Summer has announced their first solo world tour. Aptly named Rock Out with Your Socks Out, the band’s world tour would kick off in May of 2015 in Lisbon, Portugal and come to a close in September in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Along the way, the band will make stops in Spain, Italy, Australia, Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, Ireland, the UK and several other countries. While the tour is still nearly a year away, many of the dates are already sold out. In late September, the group added a new London show to their tour, which gave fans another opportunity to see the show before the group heads out to New Zealand.
To meet the demand of fans, the band has scheduled three dates in London, two in Birmingham and two in Dublin.
After touring through Europe, Australia and New Zealand, 5 Seconds of Summer will head out onto the last leg of their tour in North America. Shows are scheduled for venues throughout the United States and Canada. Two shows are scheduled for Chicago and Wantagh, and the band will hit most major cities in the U.S. and Canada before the tour comes to a close.
While much can’t be said about the band’s 2015 tour, we can get an idea of what to expect from their tour with One Direction. 5 Seconds of Summer’s hour long opening set got the crowd pumping this summer with songs like “18,” “She Looks So Perfect,” “Amnesia” and a cover of Katy Perry’s famous single “Teenage Dream.”
5 Seconds of Summer is an Australian pop rock band who first rose to fame on YouTube. In 2011, the group posted videos of them performing covers from various artists. After gaining a following in 2012, the group gained the attention of One Direction, who asked the band to join them on tour in 2013 and 2014 for their Take Me Home Tour and Where We Are Tour respectively.
The band released their debut, self-titled album in 2014. Fans can expect to hear plenty of music from the album on their 2015 tour. The group has also revealed that they have three new songs for their sophomore album. Whether or not they will perform these new songs is still up for debate, but there is a good chance we will have to wait until after their 2015 tour to hear any new music from the band.
